The Esfia RedBlue Linux operating system is an "embedded Linux" distribution that will pave the way for future wireless communication solutions. Derived from the pre-release Linux 2.4 kernel, Version 1.0 of RedBlue Linux will include plug-and-play USB support and other features of importance to the rapidly emerging embedded Linux marketplace. RedBlue can be used in devices based on processors with or without a memory management unit (MMU). With a typical kernel footprint of 400K bytes (or less), RedBlue Linux will prove to be a popular choice for Linux-based deeply embedded solutions. Well known companies such as NEC, MiTAC, and FIC have already used RedBlue Linux in developing their Internet appliance platforms with wireless funtions.

The minimized resource requirements of RedBlue Linux make it an ideal solution for low-cost embedded devices in a broad range of Internet Appliance applications. By removing unnecessary drivers, libraries, kernel components, and through fine tuning of the kernel source code to optimize components related to the booting process and RAM disk implementation, Esfia's embedded Linux distribution achieves fast booting time and minimum run-time memory footprint. RedBlue Linux also provides a compression mechanism that achieves up to 60 percent compression, without much trade-off of booting time or run-time memory footprint.
